Paperweights of Colorful Beauty (February 15, 2023 – April 10, 2023) 

We know many kinds – ones of smooth crystal, colored, cut, sandblasted, and those used for corporate purposes, as gifts or souvenirs and many others. The world of paperweights is very diverse in the shapes and techniques used. The exhibition will present its representative set from both a historical and the technical point of view. And of course, you will also see those with sealed colored flowers

 

 

Painted Folk Baroque Glass (April 20, 2023 – June 19, 2023)

(In cooperation with the Klatovy Catacombs)

In the 18th century, glass objects also reached the rural and urban folk strata in the form of painted liquor bottles (so-called "pryska"), pitchers or various beakers. The décor painted with colorful enamel feature motifs depicting a wedding, craft, military and religious onesand are adapted to the folk liking of the time. 

 

 

Among the Glass – Works from the Glass School in Valašské Meziříčí (June 23, 2023 – September 24, 2023)

Yet another regular summer exhibition of glass schools in Klatovy will presentthe work of students and teachers from the glass school in Valašské Meziříčí.

 

 

Art Nouveau Glass from the Jizera Mountains (September 27 – November 27, 2023)

The exhibition, prepared in cooperation with private collectors and the Museum of Glass and Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou, will present Art Nouveau production from the Jablonec region. In addition to hollow glass, Art Nouveau jewelry will also have an important role in the exhibition. An interesting phenomenon is the personal contact between the Šumava glassworks and refineries and trading companies in the Jizera Mountains.

 

 

 

A Candlestick for the Christmas Table (November 30,2023 – February 11, 2024)  

An exhibition of candlesticks designed and made by Czech artists and students of glass schools, offering a new original design for the traditional holidays.
