Considerable Expansion of the Permanent Exposition at the Pavilion of Glass in Klatovy
After being closed for a short time, the Pavilion of Glass in Klatovy was reopened to the public on Friday May 20, 2016. An exposition exhibiting the globally renowned glasswork of Johann Loetz of Klaštersky Mlýn at Rejštejn in Šumava was expanded by more than 100 artifacts. This means visitors will now be able to see more than 700 beautiful pieces of glass, which are ravishing not only for its design but also for the perfection and complexity of its workmanship.
The Glasswork of the New Exposition
The new glass together with the glass currently in the exposition perfectly complement and illustrate the development of production in significant glassworks at its peak period - the group of glass from the last two decades of the 19th century was significantly enriched, the addition of other Art Nouveau-style glass and many other exhibits documenting the stylistic diversification of the development of production in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Many of these artifacts are considered to be absolute unique including a vase from 1901, which was produced according to Austrian artist Jutta Sika, a group of glass with sealed metallic fibers and air bubbles or plates decorated with non-glassy material, threads and bubbles from the 1930’s. Visitors can also look forward to the lighting of aroma lamp in the style of the Second Art Nouveau or new Tango Glass and much more.
